The Fraser Valley Amateur Radio Emergency Service Society (FVARESS) maintains the VE7RVA repeater site located at an elevation of 823 meters on Sumas Mountain east of Abbotsford. This location provides communication to the Lower Mainland that is independent of commercial electical power.
